Preserving History

The Baileyville Community Hall is an important part of our local history.  Many a meeting, reception, party, social gathering, funeral dinner, etc. have been held there.

However, the 100+ year old building is beginning to show its age and there are several major improvements/repairs that have been needed.  Over the past 2 years, we have made progress, thanks to the support of You, the community.  These repairs have been a huge financial challenge for such a small association. With your continued support, we will be able to preserve this piece of local history.   We have already received support from a few community members, but we need the support of the whole community.

To Be Done

Additional needs include repairing and re-pointing the stone foundation, fixing the basement entrance, installing a hall light, and replacing the flooring in the main room.  If you'd like to help, either in time and expertise or financially,  please contact us at baileyvillecommunityhall@gmail.com.

2014 - New Roof!

Picture
Our first major improvement was the new roof.  For 80 years, the Association has dealt with problems with the roof. In order to preserve the Hall, it was necessary to replace the roof before proceeding with other repairs. As news of the Hall’s needs became known, we were contacted by Lance and Ruth Cooper.  Lance grew up on  Tadpole Road. Although he and Ruth left the area for over 30 years to pursue their careers, their hearts remained tied to the area.   In 2001, they retired and moved back to the area.  When they heard more about the needs of the Community Hall, they decided to give back to the community by generously donating the entire amount for the new roof!   Our sincere thanks to both of them.

Our thanks to the Ferguson Township team for their help on the 2015 Day of Caring with cleaning out the basement.  It was a dusty and dirty job – but Mark Kunkle, Diane Conrad, Eric Endresen, Jeff Ressler, and Ray Stolinas, along with the help from several board members got the job done!

2018 -New Sign!

Many thanks to the American Legion for donating a new sign to grace the front of the Hall.  The old one was in bad shape and needed repainting.  The Legion donated a metal sign which will last for years!  Thanks!
